We kept the best races for the last article with the Cadets...
In Baby Rok Khun Jarute was the fastest in time trials, ahead of Plash and Intat. He finished heat 1 in 8th position beating five Cadets, not bad at all. He again won heat 2 ahead of Khun Plash but in the final it was Plash, Jarute and Intat (who got his driver profile for the occasion).
Heat 1
An Intrepid front row for heat 1 with Khun Veravich on pole and Sasint 2nd. Khun Veravich takes the lead and the 'train' following him is led by Khun Phakawat. Khun Sasint takes second position and, closely followed by Phakawat, catches up with Veravich. Soon it is Sasint in the lead. Khun Nakarin and Phakawat have overtaken Veravich. Behind them Khun Wittawat, Kamic and Siraphop. Khun Veravich retakes second position and the final order is Sasint, Veravich, Nakarin, Phakawat.
Heat 2
Another Intrepid 1-2 but this time Khun Veravich takes the lead on curve 1 and leads all the way. Khun Sasint finishes second, 4 seconds behind the winner. Khun Phakawat takes a bad start and is only 7th on lap one. Nice battle for 3rd position kept by Khun Nakarin despite a constant pressure by Khun Siraphop. Near the end Khun Phakawat takes 4th position, Kamic is 5th and Siraphop 6th.
Final
Drama in the final. Khun Nakarin and Veravich were fast on the wet but too close to each other. Too close for comfort and twice they went spinning. The first encounter between the leaders allowed Khun Phakawat (who was just following them) to take the lead. Despite a second encounter Khun Nakarin recovered to finish 3rd behind winner Khun Phakawat and Wittawat. Khun Nakarin was very disappointed at first but was smiling on the podium. He is an excellent driver and we hope he wins soon (not because he has a KartingPhotography sticker on his helmet but because we believe he can do it and deserves it). Khun Sasint finished 4th and Veravich 5th.
On the Cadet podium: Phakawat, Wittawat, Trin, Tanapongpan and Jakarin. Khun Kamic is standing for Khun Veravich on the Mini Rok podium.
