On the topic of better late than never we are very pleased to welcome Fabienne in our Driver Profile section. One month ago Fabienne sent us her data from distant South Africa and then we got busy with Suzuka then Macau.
We have created a new category called "Rest of the World" for her and we are now dreaming that drivers from all around the world will soon join her in that section. If Fabienne can send us a description of the karting scene in South Africa describing the different championships and challenge we could also start articles on Karting in various countries. Wouldn't that be interesting?
Talking about late we have updated/created the driver profiles of Rafael, Presley, Archim, Dwinanto, Gunawan, Andersen and Aldi but still have to do the same for Victor, Perdana, Clio, Jethro, Renzi, Andi and Andi. And then we have to update the pictures in several existing profiles with the new pics from AKOC Macau, and then...
To sum it up we are a doing it a little like when we drive a go-kart (at least most of the time): slowly but surely.
And we still need contact information from Vica and Archim to act upon their victory in the AKOC Fighting Spirit Challenge at Macau. |

We are pleased to introduce the KartingPhotography/Vroom Fighting Spirit Challenge for the 2009 AKOC Championship!
You know that KartingPhotography likes race winners but also those drivers who have been able to overcome adversity by staging spectacular recoveries during the pre final and the final, thus demonstrating their talent but also their Fighting Spirit. We have applied this approach since last year to the WSK Series and we always present race results in a format showing, at a glance, who has gained the most positions during the pre final and final of the meeting.
VROOM International, the leading Italian karting magazine which brings international exposure to Asian racing, likes our approach and has readily accepted to grant prizes to the winners of the 2009 AKOC Fighting Spirit Challenge. The prizes will come in the form of a 1-year free subscription to VROOM International and we already have 3 winners after the Macau meeting. Want to know their names?...

Ignoramus means ignorant and ignorant we were. You may have noticed that KartingPhotography has devoted less space to the Thai Championships this year. There were schedule conflicts like we had to go to Hong Kong during SKT2 and unfortunately the dates of National 3 were the same as AKOC round1 in Macau. But there was another reason we could not write articles and it was that the results of the races were not published (Rotax Max, SKT2) or partially published (only the finals for National).
And if you want to describe a meeting you need more than the finals' results. This is where we have to admit that we were ignorant and that we have to make a mea culpa, you will see why...
Tony Kart had a good weekend at Genk for the fourth round of the WSK Series, they sent us their press release and pics of their successful drivers... |
