Karting Thailand: SKT2, Race Report, Standings after R2 and Summary Result Table
Friday, 09 May 2008

Image Cyclon Nargis, which sadly devastated the Irrawady Delta region in neighbouring Myanmar, gave us cloudy and dark weather conditions all over the weekend, but very little rain. The weather was gloomy but light came from the racetrack where several races delivered spectacular battles and sparkling racing moves. The SKT tradition was respected and the day winners' parades as well as the starting grid interviews of young drivers by organiser Khun Kitti also contributed to enlighten the day.

For the first time this weekend the Rok Junior and Rok classes switched from Bridgestones YGK to the softer YKB tires used in Europe.

Check our Race Report, the Karting Photography Results Summary Table and the official Standings after SKT Round 2.

WSK Series: Round 3 Lonato, Kozlinski (KF1), Suvanto (KF2) and Maisano (Maisanissimo!) (KF3)
Saturday, 10 May 2008

ImageThe third round of the WSK Series took place this weekend at the South Garda racing track, near Lonato in Italy. KF1 (41 entrants), KF2 (83 entrants) and KF3 (81 entrants) were the three classes competing this time (KZ2 was taking a rest).

In KF3 a friend of Karting Photography, young Frenchman Brandon Maisano (Intrepid, see pic), delivered a fantastic show at Lonato by winning his four qualifying heats, the pre final and the final! Brandon was already the leader in the KF3 Series, he now has a 13 points advance over the driver ranked second, Nick De Vries (Zanardi). We wish Brandon the best for the last two races.

French drivers also did very well in the KF1 class, with Armand Convers (PCR) winning the Pre final, Jean Philippe Guignet (CRG) clinching 3rd position in both the pre final and the final, and Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG) winning the final.

The KF2 races saw the domination of the Tony Kart Racing Team. Pre final winner: Petri Suvanto (Tony Kart) ahead of his teammate Oliver Rowland. Final: Petri Suvanto ahead of Oliver Rowland... Considering that Petri started on the 3rd row of the pre final and Oliver on the sixth row, their performance is all the more remarkable.

WSK Series Lonato: Kozlinski in KF1, a truly superb victory!
Saturday, 10 May 2008

ImageArnaud Kozlinski, by winning the KF1 final at Lonato, not only demonstrated his great talent as a driver but also the determination which characterises true champions. You may ask why Karting Photography is so enthusiastic about this particular victory? Because Arnaud started 18th on the pre final grid, made his way to 6th in the pre final and to first in the final! In his driver profile (CRG  www.kartcrg.com) Arnaud gives two advices to young drivers: Never give up! and Be patient! As you can see he is a man who follows his own precepts.

Davide Fore (Maranello), 29th in the pre final (he stopped on lap 9) also staged a fantastic comeback in the final to finish in 6th position.

Unsurprisingly the two topped the rankings of the Karting Photography Fighting Spirit Challenge in the KF1 class.

In KF3 Brandon Maisano did not collect points in the Fighting Spirit Challenge, just because he had a perfect weekend at the top. The first runner-up in the final, Nick De Vries, had to fight his way up, he was only 16th on the pre final grid! Not bad for a 13 year old!

Check the full results of our Fighting Spirit Challenge... The leaders after Lonato are Davide Fore (KF1), Oliver Rowland (KF2) and in KF3 Brandon now shares the leadership with Coleselli (Birel).
